Drawing Room

Imagine a place of gentle relaxation. A place where cosy surroundings create a little sanctuary of calm. That’s our luxurious drawing room.

You will be greeted by inviting sofas, gentle lighting, and selections from our eclectic art collection. There is even a rocking chair by the fire. The Drawing Room is tastefully decorated and the wooden floors gleam in the light from the impressive bay window.

Let’s take a moment to talk about the window in particular. Take a look at the pictures below and you will get a feel for the view over the valley. Lonsdale Villa Retreat is nestled in the side of the hill leading out from Penrith. From the Drawing Room window, you can gaze beyond our lush green lawn and gardens to the traditional slate rooftops of Penrith, and then out over the often snow clad hills beyond. Sometimes, on the rare occasions when we don’t have guests, we like to just sit and enjoy the view from here.

For our business, training, development, retreat and other groups, the Drawing Room is a great place to hold intimate sessions or as a break out area. The comfortable surroundings are a great setting for creating brainstorming, discussion groups or less formal gatherings.

The Drawing Room really is one of the jewels in the crown at Lonsdale Villa Retreat.
